Job Description
As a Lead Growth Engineer at Circle, you will drive our product’s growth through data-driven experiments focused on increasing user acquisition, boosting monthly recurring revenue (MRR), and reducing churn. You'll work closely with Sales to identify friction points, improve conversion paths, and collaborate with a global team of senior engineers and product leaders to scale Circle’s impact.
Your work will include optimizing onboarding flows, enhancing billing infrastructure, and building internal tools for the sales team. This cross-functional role will have you collaborating across marketing, sales, and product teams to implement strategies that drive growth.
Responsibilities
- Frequently ship high-quality work, balancing speed with attention to detail.
- Lead and mentor a global team of engineers, ensuring continuous growth and development.
- Design and implement data-driven experiments to enhance user acquisition, retention, and MRR.
- Collaborate with the sales and marketing teams to achieve growth targets.
- Rethink and improve billing infrastructure for better MRR growth and pricing transparency.
- Drive product-led growth initiatives through iteration and innovation.
- Manage projects end-to-end, from concept to impactful execution.
- Develop and execute A/B tests to drive measurable improvements.
- Analyze user data to uncover growth opportunities and improve product experience.
- Regularly engage with internal stakeholders to align on growth priorities and initiatives.
Position Requirements
- Proficiency in English at CEFR Level C2 / ILR Level 5.
- Minimum 2 years of experience leading and mentoring engineers, ideally in growth-focused environments.
- 5+ years of hands-on full-stack development experience, including deep knowledge of Ruby on Rails, React, Sidekiq, Kafka, and payment integrations (Stripe).
- Experience with product-led growth strategies, A/B testing, and data analysis.
- Strong project management skills, capable of driving initiatives from start to finish.
- Excellent communication skills, able to align teams and explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
- Self-starter, comfortable in fast-paced and dynamic environments.
- Data-driven approach to decision making, with a passion for delivering user-centric solutions.
Bonus Points
- Experience using AI tools for data analysis and problem-solving.
- Familiarity with growth strategies in community/creator platforms.
- Previous experience with payment providers such as Stripe.
- Understanding of subscription and membership models.
- UX/UI design expertise, with a focus on pixel-perfect implementations.
- Experience scaling teams or building engineering processes in startups.
