Senior Ruby-on-Rails Backend Developer / Architect / Staff Engineer

Job Type:

Full-time, with contract type dependent on location.

Location:

Modern office located in Belgrade, Serbia, with an option for relocation.

Salary Range:

6,000–8,000 EUR

Job Description:

We are seeking experienced Ruby-on-Rails professionals to join our integration team. The role involves working on projects related to core features and backend-to-backend integrations (clients/operators).

Responsibilities:

- Design and develop HTTP APIs and integrate with external APIs.

- Collaborate on decomposing the monolithic application into manageable services.

- Participate in architectural decisions and advocate for new technologies.

- Optimize performance and ensure scalability of gaming platforms.

- Work on new features and experimental tasks to validate concepts.

Our Tech Stack:

- Ruby, Ruby on Rails.

- Asynchronous message systems (RabbitMQ, Kafka, Nats, etc.).

- Other languages (Elixir, Golang, Rust, etc.).

- Tools: Jira, Git, Continuous Delivery.

Position Requirements:

- Experience in building web applications using Ruby on Rails.

- Familiarity with monolithic architectures and microservices, including hierarchy understanding.

- Proficiency in application and code architecture design.

- Knowledge of software engineering principles, design patterns, and best practices.

- Strong skills in creating APIs for backend/frontend communications.

- Ability to write clean and maintainable code.

- Effective collaboration in team environments.

Preferred Qualifications:

- Experience with other programming languages such as Elixir, Golang, or Rust.
