Job Description:

We are looking for an experienced Engineering Manager who will play a critical role in our team. This is a high-level position that requires a strategic mindset and strong leadership skills. We value a proactive approach and the ability to solve complex technical problems. Our R&D team consists of 250+ people, including developers, QA engineers, designers, technical support engineers, DevOps engineers, and product managers.


Responsibilities:

  • Oversee 2-3 technical micro-teams and manage personnel, delivery, and process management.
  • Develop and train the team, create development plans.
  • Form effective teams, manage resources, and allocate them according to needs.
  • Ensure a quality onboarding process for new team members.
  • Provide regular feedback and conduct individual 1-1 sessions for employee development.
  • Participate in planning and provide expert opinions on timelines and risks.
  • Assist the team in estimating timelines and the complexity of chosen technical solutions.
  • Resolve organizational issues hindering development.
  • Work on improving engineering and team practices.
  • Timely communicate any changes to processes to the team, monitor adherence to agreements.
  • Promote and support an engineering culture within the company.
  • Participate in technical discussions without handling routine tasks.
  • Ensure clear and transparent communication within the team.
  • Collaborate with product managers, discussing the cost of solutions and potential risks.


Our Stack:

Ruby on Rails, React, TypeScript, PostgreSQL, Docker, AWS, Kubernetes (k8s), Jenkins, GitLab, Bitbucket. Project management using Jira with a Kanban approach, adhering to a trunk-based development model.


Position Requirements:

  • A minimum of 10 years of experience as a software developer, preferably with T-shaped expertise and advanced engineering practices.
  • Experience as Head of Engineering/Engineering Manager in large projects or CTO in small projects for at least 2 years.
  • Experience in managing remote R&D teams is desirable.
  • Deep understanding of software architecture, design principles, and development methodologies.
  • Excellent communication skills for effective interaction with stakeholders.
  • Willingness to continuously learn and develop in leadership, management, and technical expertise.
  • Successful experience in the growth and support of team members.
  • Developed organizational skills, including the ability to effectively solve organizational problems and coordinate architectural and technical decisions within the team.
