Job Description:
We are seeking a Mid-to-Senior Level IT Specialist with strong technical expertise, excellent troubleshooting skills, and a customer-focused approach. In this role, you will work on delivering proactive managed IT services for small and medium-sized businesses across Vancouver and the surrounding areas. The project focuses on improving IT reliability, strengthening cybersecurity, optimizing cloud infrastructure, and providing responsive technical support.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide managed IT support for business clients.
- Monitor, maintain, and troubleshoot Windows servers, workstations, and networks.
- Deploy and manage Microsoft 365, Azure, and cloud infrastructure.
- Configure and support firewalls, VPNs, Wi-Fi, and network equipment.
- Perform cybersecurity assessments, endpoint protection, and vulnerability remediation.
- Install and maintain structured network cabling and IT hardware.
- Respond to service requests and resolve technical issues within SLA requirements.
- Perform system backups, disaster recovery testing, and documentation.
- Collaborate with clients to recommend technology improvements and IT best practices.
- Assist with website hosting, domain management, and technical support when required.

Technical Skills:
- Strong experience supporting Windows Server and Windows desktop environments.
- Hands-on experience with Microsoft 365 administration (Exchange Online, SharePoint, Teams, and Intune).
- Experience managing Microsoft Azure and Microsoft Entra ID (Azure Active Directory).
- Solid understanding of TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPNs, VLANs, routing, switching, and enterprise networking.
- Experience configuring and troubleshooting firewalls (Fortinet, Sophos, or similar enterprise security solutions).
- Knowledge of structured network cabling installation, testing, and troubleshooting.
- Experience with virtualization platforms, including Hyper-V and VMware.
- Familiarity with backup, disaster recovery, and business continuity solutions.
- Strong understanding of cybersecurity best practices, endpoint protection, vulnerability management, and security monitoring.
- Experience with Remote Monitoring & Management (RMM) and Professional Services Automation (PSA) platforms.
- Ability to diagnose and resolve hardware, software, networking, and cloud-related issues efficiently.
- Knowledge of WordPress website management, web hosting, DNS management, and SSL certificates is an asset.
- Basic scripting skills using PowerShell are preferred.

- 3+ years of experience in Managed IT Services (MSP) or enterprise IT support.
- Experience supporting small and medium-sized businesses is highly preferred.
- Relevant Microsoft, Cisco, CompTIA, Azure, or cybersecurity certifications are considered a strong advantage.
- A proactive mindset with a passion for learning new technologies and delivering high-quality IT solutions.
Working Conditions:
- Contract Options: Full-time, permanent position. Experienced contractors and self-employed professionals will also be considered for long-term collaboration.
- Probationary Period: 3-month probationary period with performance reviews and ongoing feedback.
- Work Schedule: Monday to Friday, 8:30 AM – 5:00 PM (Pacific Time). Occasional after-hours or weekend support may be required for scheduled maintenance or emergency client issues.
- Location: Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada. Candidates located within the Greater Vancouver area are preferred, though flexible remote/hybrid work arrangements are available.
